Lead Scheduler - Unity Hospital - Plastic Surgery (Full-Time, Days)
About The Position
The Lead Scheduler will be responsible for coordinating the daily surgical schedule with the Chief of Anesthesiology, ensuring accuracy and making changes as necessary. This role involves leading a team of staff, assigning daily tasks, providing oversight and support, and performing complex tasks. The Lead Scheduler will also mentor and train new employees, provide input on team members' performance, and serve as a resource to staff and collaborating departments for resolving complex issues and providing technical skills. This is a full-time position supporting 3 plastic surgeons for OR scheduling at WNY Plastic Surgery at Unity Hospital.
Requirements
- Experience in OR administrative environment required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, social sciences, human resources, or equivalent preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 6 years of relevant healthcare experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Leads a team of staff doing the same work.
- Assigns daily tasks to other members of the team, providing oversight and support as necessary.
- Performs most complex tasks or procedures.
- Mentors and trains new employees to help them reach the standards of the department.
- Provides input regarding team members’ performances, recommending disciplinary action when required.
- Serves as a resource to staff and collaborating departments in resolving complex issues and by providing technical skills.
- Coordinates the daily surgical schedule with the Chief of Anesthesiology ensuring accuracy and making changes as necessary.
