About The Position

The Boeing Company, specifically Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS), is seeking a Lead Satellite Electrical Power and Harness Systems Engineer (Level 4) to join their team in El Segundo, California. This role is within the Space, Intelligence, and Weapon Systems (SIWS) Team, which focuses on developing next-generation products and services for both commercial and proprietary clients. The team is involved in all aspects of engineering, from initial concept development and proposal writing to requirements, design, build, integration, testing, and demonstration. The Electrical Power and Harness Systems Engineer will be part of a high-performing team working on high-intensity development projects, with opportunities to engage in both non-recurring and recurring/sustaining efforts for satellite power and harness subsystems, including systems engineering of power system elements and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience working with space related electrical power and harness subsystems
  • Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure integrated execution and alignment of subsystem with Program EPS/Harness Integrated Product Team Lead
  • Program execution for EPS/Harness subsystems engineering
  • EPS/Harness portions of spacecraft and system specifications
  • System Requirements definition, System flow down and System verification
  • End-to-End responsibility of EPS/Harness Subsystem through life cycle
  • Unit Requirements definition, Unit specifications (with REA support)
  • Subsystem Architecture & Sizing (including Block Diagrams)
  • Comprehensive specifications, Specification development and maintenance (subsystem and unit specs)
  • Technology insertion (roadmap)
  • Unit data buyoff
  • Inputs to EPS/Harness subsystem-level test procedure development
  • Facilitate design reviews as required (PDR, CDR, etc.)
  • Subsystem to Subsystem Interface Requirements
  • Unit Qualification Support
  • Inputs to Spacecraft Database, flight software, and flight operating procedures
  • EPS/Harness Subsystem Launch and Mission Readiness
  • Participate and Support with cost and schedule reduction initiatives
  • EPS/Harness Subsystem Mission responsibilities including launch and mission
