About The Position

The Lead Porter is responsible for leading a team of sales porters to support the sale and upkeep of vehicles and the dealership property. This role involves supporting the selection, training, and performance management of sales porters, keeping the vehicle lot neat and orderly, moving units as directed by sales managers and in accordance with dealership display standards, transporting customers and dealership personnel as needed, and assisting with customer deliveries. The Lead Porter also ensures all vehicles are clean, in good repair, and secure on the lot and in the showroom, and that all window stickers are properly placed on newly arrived vehicles. Additional duties include picking up and delivering vehicles from storage and other dealerships, assisting with weather-related clean-up when necessary, and performing building and grounds maintenance as needed. Other functions and special projects may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of basic automotive repair and maintenance
  • Ability to handle machinery safely
  • Ability to drive across surrounding states to transport vehicles
  • Ability to drive manual transmission
  • Valid state driver's license
  • Ability to operate an automobile
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Ability to lead a team
