About The Position

This team member provides supervision and oversight for daily Hotel housekeeping operations, including cleaning and preparing hotel rooms for guests prior to arrival, during their stay, and upon check-out. This team member is mainly utilized as a Day Shift coordinator, as well as a consistent rover helping with all Room Attendants to improve the speed they are currently completing the day’s room flips.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • A strong combination of written and verbal communication skills to write, read, and comprehend written correspondence is required
  • The ability to effectively communicate with guests and team members in a positive manner is required
  • The ability to use industrial cleaning equipment including, but not limited to, vacuums and carpet cleaners is required
  • The ability to use office equipment including, but not limited to a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-line telephone, is required

Nice To Haves

  • A High School diploma, or the equivalent thereof, is preferred
  • A minimum of one (1) year of related experience and/or training is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists in directing the work of Hotel Department housekeeping team members during an assigned shift; including the responsibilities of planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Responsible for coaching, rewarding, and evaluating team member performance
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures
  • Ensures that the cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and exterior areas of the Hotel is performed within established standards
  • Obtains and maintains a list that includes vacant rooms which need to be cleaned immediately, prospective checkouts, and stay-overs in order to prepare work assignments
  • Assigns the number of rooms, or areas to be cleaned, issues keys, and ensures supplies are adequate based on occupied rooms in the event a Supervisor isn’t available
  • Inspects room check-outs thoroughly and spot checks the remaining rooms as needed
  • Creates and maintains regular schedules for special cleaning duties in guest rooms and in public areas, such as flipping mattresses, cleaning draperies and bed spreads, cleaning carpets, and polishing fixtures
  • Inspects public areas within the Hotel at least once a day including restrooms, the main lobby, corridors, and exterior public areas
  • Inventories supplies to ensure adequate levels are maintained and notifies the Hotel Manager as needed for ordering
  • Ensures that supplies meet established standards
  • Monitors and checks all deliveries, including laundry and other supplies, to ensure that invoices match materials received, if needed
  • Coordinates with Facilities Department team members to examine guest rooms and public areas to determine the need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment
  • Maintains a good working relationship with the Front Desk team members in order to facilitate a smooth exchange of information
  • Ensures that safety procedures are being followed by team members
  • Recommends the hiring, termination, promotion, or any other change of team member employment status to the Hotel Manager and Hotel Supervisor
  • Cleans guest rooms and public areas if needed in accordance with established standards including, but not limited to, vacuuming, dusting, making of beds, cleaning bathrooms (tub, sink, toilet, and tiles), and emptying trash
  • Complies with housekeeping procedures, safety guidelines, and security procedures
  • Folds linens and maintains ample stock on cart of supplies needed to clean rooms and public areas
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies including, but not limited to, towels, soap, shampoo, and drinking glasses
  • Restocks each room’s Guest Services Binder with all information as needed
  • Moves furniture, straightens bed, tables, curtains, and bedspreads
  • Washes interior windows, door panels, and sills
  • Empties wastebaskets and sanitary disposals. Transports trash and waste to disposal area
  • Reports maintenance deficiencies to the Hotel, Hotel Supervisor, and Facilities Department team members
  • Checks all furnishings and equipment (lights, radios, etc) for needed repairs or maintenance
  • Sweeps, scrubs, polishes, and dusts floors, fixtures, and furniture
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
  • Organizes and arranges guest belongings as necessary to present a clean and orderly room
  • Checks all rooms for smoke odors and uses a cleaning machine as needed to remove odor
  • Reports all articles left behind by guests in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Maintains an accurate Room Attendant list and notifies the Front Desk of early/late departing guests and occupied/unoccupied rooms
  • Performs all duties in a manner that continually supports the vision, mission, values, and principles of the Resort & Casino
  • Performs all duties in a manner that adheres to the guest service standards established by the Resort & Casino’s guest service program
  • Other duties as assigned by the Hotel Manager
