About The Position

St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced respiratory professional to join their team as a Lead Respiratory Therapist. This role involves delivering safe, accurate cardiopulmonary care while supporting the daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department. In this leadership-focused position, the Lead Respiratory Therapist will mentor team members, guide clinical practice, and help ensure cohesive, high-quality care across the hospital. St. Mary’s is a 229-bed acute care hospital committed to delivering exceptional care to its community for over 100 years. This role is ideal for a clinically strong therapist who thrives in a leadership capacity and is willing to work nights and weekends as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory program with at least an associate degree
  • Current Oklahoma RCP license or Provisional Letter (valid until Board meeting date listed)
  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required and maintained
  • BLS required
  • ACLS and PALS required within six (6) months of hire; annual recertification required
  • SECURE training required within six (6) months of hire
  • 3–5 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Typing and basic computer skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • NRP preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serving as a resource for RRTs, CRTs, and Respiratory Therapy Interns
  • Acting as a preceptor and mentor for students and new team members
  • Assisting the Department Director with scheduling, processes, policies, and current practice
  • Facilitating orientation and competency validation for new hires
  • Obtaining and evaluating patient data through chart review and physical assessment
  • Delivering safe, accurate respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary difficulties
  • Supporting cohesive communication and collaboration across hospital departments
