About The Position

St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced respiratory professional to join their team as a Lead Respiratory Therapist. This role involves delivering safe, accurate cardiopulmonary care while supporting the daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department. In this leadership-focused position, the Lead Respiratory Therapist will mentor team members, guide clinical practice, and help ensure cohesive, high-quality care across the hospital. St. Mary’s is a 229-bed acute care hospital committed to delivering exceptional care to its community for over 100 years. This role is ideal for a clinically strong therapist who thrives in a leadership capacity and is willing to work nights and weekends as needed.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited respiratory program with at least an associate degree
Current Oklahoma RCP license or Provisional Letter (valid until Board meeting date listed)
NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required and maintained
BLS required
ACLS and PALS required within six (6) months of hire; annual recertification required
SECURE training required within six (6) months of hire
3–5 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Typing and basic computer skills required

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred
NRP preferred

Responsibilities

Serving as a resource for RRTs, CRTs, and Respiratory Therapy Interns
Acting as a preceptor and mentor for students and new team members
Assisting the Department Director with scheduling, processes, policies, and current practice
Facilitating orientation and competency validation for new hires
Obtaining and evaluating patient data through chart review and physical assessment
Delivering safe, accurate respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary difficulties
Supporting cohesive communication and collaboration across hospital departments
