About The Position

The Lead Residential Counselor provides direct support to people with behavioral conditions as well as intellectual and developmental disabilities in a small group residential setting or an individual living arrangement. This role works collaboratively with the individuals served, their families, friends, employers, and other support staff to transform lives by building independence skills or increasing each person's quality of life. The Lead Residential Counselor administers medication under the Medication Administration Plan (MED), implements treatment plans, and assists individuals with activities of daily living, such as household chores and cooking. This role also strengthens residents' connection to their community by providing transportation for outings like shopping and doctor's appointments. Additionally, the Lead Residential Counselor serves as an experienced resource in developing the overall quality of the program and the skills of the staff, modeling skills for program staff and assisting in ensuring new staff are properly trained, on-boarded, and welcomed into the program.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years' experience in a Residential Counselor role
  • Demonstrated track record as an exceptional performer and team-player while in the Residential Counselor role
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a current, valid, US drivers' license for at least 6 months
  • Must be able to become CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care certified within 60 days of employment
  • Must be able to become MAC certified within 150 days of employment
  • Must be able to successfully pass a CORI and SORI reference, multi-state background and driving record check
