About The Position

What You Can Expect As the Lead Relay - Electric Tech your duties will include but not limited to the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment. You will direct and aid plant maintenance personnel in performing their required duties and functions in addition to all plant related equipment repairs. In this role your key responsibilities everyday will be: Implement and carry out required plant maintenance functions and repairs at various sites Coordinate the activities of other maintenance and operational personnel as required and will be capable of conducting all necessary actions and functions independently and without direct supervision. Complete administrative functions as required by the Maintenance Management system, supervision, or others in addition to requisitioning parts and material, contacting vendors, contractors etc. Perform preventive maintenance functions and other tasks including but not limited to regular calibrations and adjustments. Execute other tasks as required to fulfill the operational and maintenance requirements of the various plants and equipment including housekeeping. Perform all duties consistent with safe work practices as is generally practiced in industrial environments, and in accordance with established Employer safety practices and regulations as delineated in the Employer’s Safety Manual. Train bargaining unit personnel not familiar with the plant to assist in their skill

Requirements

  • A minimum High School Diploma/GED
  • Completed training as an instrumentation & controls technician
  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in maintenance of plant equipment
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical test equipment and meters including but not limited to low and high voltage meggers, oscilloscope, etc.
  • Knowledgeable in electrical generation and distribution systems, protective relaying and switching, transformers and switchgear up to and including 69kv
  • Knowledgeable of high voltage indoor and outdoor switchgear, substations, and DC control systems, motors, and motor controllers.
  • Self-motivated and able to perform all required job functions without direct supervision.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/will drive company vehicle
  • Willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
