JOB SUMMARY: The Lead Nurse is under the direction of the Director of Nursing. The Lead Nurse is employed on a full-time basis with responsibility and authority to oversee clinical operational aspects of the ambulatory surgery center while reporting findings to the Director of Nursing. The Lead Nurse is also responsible for directing nursing staff in all clinical areas of the facility according to policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • State Licensure as Registered Nurse.
  • Current BLS and ACLS.
  • Clinical and supervisory experience in intraoperative setting.
  • Experience in directing teaching and leading personnel.
  • Applicable experience in Ambulatory Surgery Center operations.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to and supports the mission, vision, values, goals, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Riverview Surgical Center, LLC.
  • Assesses the quality of care and communicates any concerns to the Director of Nursing.
  • Assists the Director of Nursing with functions of staff scheduling, policy development, education, in-service and coordination of patient care as indicated.
  • Demonstrated understanding of patient flow in the Intraoperative area.
  • Works in support of the scheduled cases and makes recommendations for changes to the schedule, plan of care, or staffing, as appropriate.
  • Performs as a role model and team leader.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills to delegate tasks to the team and assign responsibilities.
  • Will be an active member of the entire department, with the ability to help in roles outside of surgical specific job duties if needed.
  • Works in a collaborative manner with leaders and teams to achieve desired goals.
  • Actively participates in data gathering, quality improvement and outcomes measurements as outlined in the QAPI Plan.
  • Demonstrates awareness of infection control by always following established procedures.
  • Communicates and interprets facilities standards, policies and procedures to staff members, patients and visitors; and promotes adherence to them.
