About The Position

At Scout Motors, you don't just design vehicles- you shape the future of the road. Our Engineering team is where bold ideas meet rigorous execution, building machines that are as durable and capable as the people who drive them. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with brilliant minds across disciplines, turning complex challenges into elegant, scalable solutions that meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and user experience. This is a place where your fingerprints are found on metal – where what you design gets built, driven, and remembered. If you're hungry to engineer something that matters, Scout Motors is where that ambition finds its highest gear. The CAE Energy Team within Scout comprises a small group of highly qualified engineers responsible for assessing energy consumption in support of component & system specifications, and regulatory / customer focused drive cycles (including range, performance, towing, extremes of temperatures etc.). The Lead Range & Energy Consumption Engineer is responsible for maximizing, validating, and ensuring the accuracy of EV and hybrid vehicle range, fuel economy, and road load performance. This role leads vehicle level testing, develops efficiency roadmaps, and partners with cross ‑ functional teams to ensure program targets are met, and energy saving technologies are effectively integrated.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical engineering field
  • 12+ years of experience in an automotive vehicle environment, leading the attribute of EV range / gasoline FE
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of aerodynamics, rolling resistance, vehicle mass, and their impact on EV/HEV efficiency
  • Familiarity with battery management, powertrain controls, and regenerative braking systems
  • Strong analytical and cross ‑ functional leadership skills
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Passport required.
