About The Position

This role involves staff supervision and coordination of daily department activities within the Radiology department. The Lead Radiologic Technologist collaborates with technical staff to organize and direct workflow, evaluates technical skills, and schedules staff appropriately, including call and holidays. They ensure adequate staff coverage for vacations, absenteeism, and turnover. The position also focuses on maintaining quality standards, monitoring compliance with accreditation and regulatory agencies, and hospital/department standards for safety, infection control, aesthetics, and equipment performance. Patient care is a key aspect, utilizing multidisciplinary, team-oriented actions and assessing patients' emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive, and psychosocial conditions. The role requires operating, caring for, and maintaining equipment, adjusting technical factors for quality imaging, and maintaining and enhancing technical skills and technology advancement. The Lead Radiologic Technologist performs any assignment deemed necessary by their supervisor.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology required
2 years’ experience in general radiology required
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiology upon hire required
CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (either by the TDH or TMB) upon hire required
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

Nice To Haves

Associate's Degree preferred
1 year hospital experience preferred

Responsibilities

Monitors staff use of technique charts or protocols, patient documentation, reviewing films with technologists, and advising staff on improvements
Uses multidisciplinary, team-oriented actions
Assesses and recognizes the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions
Adjusts technical factors to produce quality imaging
Operates, cares for and maintains equipment
Maintains and enhances technical skills and technology advancement
Performs any assignment deemed necessary by supervisor
