Lead Radiologic Technologist Full Time
About The Position
The Lead Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of daily department activities within the Radiology Department at Texas Health Arlington. This role involves collaborating with technical staff to organize and direct workflow, evaluating technical skills, and ensuring adequate staff coverage. The Lead Technologist will also monitor quality standards, compliance with regulatory agencies, and patient care. Additionally, they will operate, maintain, and adjust equipment for quality imaging and maintain and enhance their own technical skills.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology required
- 2 years’ experience in general radiology required
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiology upon hire required
- CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (either by the TDH or TMB) upon hire required
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
Nice To Haves
- Associate's Degree preferred
- 1 year hospital experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Staff supervision and coordination of daily department activities
- Collaborates with the technical staff in organizing and directing department work flow.
- Evaluates technical skills, and schedules staff appropriately to include call and holidays. Provides adequate staff coverage including vacation schedules, absenteeism and turnover.
- Monitors compliance for accreditation and regulatory agencies and hospital and department standards for safety, infection control, department aesthetics and equipment performance.
- Monitors staff use of technique charts or protocols, patient documentation, reviewing films with technologists, and advising staff on improvements
- Uses multidisciplinary, team-oriented actions
- Assesses and recognizes the patient’s emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive and psychosocial conditions
- Adjusts technical factors to produce quality imaging
- Operates, cares for and maintains equipment
- Maintains and enhances technical skills and technology advancement
- Performs any assignment deemed necessary by supervisor
