About The Position

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is seeking a Lead Radiation Therapist to join their esteemed team. The Lead Radiation Therapist, working under the supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapist, is an experienced Allied Health Professional responsible for performing simulations and administering radiation treatments as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist. This role requires in-depth knowledge of all aspects of Radiation Therapy and involves serving as a resource for all Radiation Therapist staff at the assigned site.

Requirements

  • Proficient and experienced Allied Health Professional
  • In-depth knowledge of all aspects of Radiation Therapy
  • Ability to perform simulations and administer radiation treatments
  • Experience with simulator, fabrication of immobilization devices and various treatment devices
  • Experience operating linear accelerator
  • Ability to verify treatment plans, position patients, and monitor patients during procedures
  • Experience monitoring technical accuracy of treatment setups

Responsibilities

  • Performs accurate and efficient radiation therapy treatment simulations as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist, including proper use of simulator, fabrication of immobilization devices and various treatment devices such as bite block and custom bolus cut outs.
  • Delivers accurate, efficient, and reproducible radiation therapy treatment as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist and as indicated in the treatment plan. This includes operation of linear accelerator, verifying treatment plan prior to treatment, proper patient positioning, and monitoring of patient during procedure.
  • Monitors the technical accuracy of treatment setups by Radiation Therapists and Senior Radiation Therapists.
  • Serves as point of contact for all Radiation Therapy questions and issues at assigned site, including questions around treatment protocols, quality assurance, staffing schedules, patient schedules, and equipment issues.
  • Ensures that Senior Therapists complete all responsibilities.
  • Covers Chief Radiation Therapist when needed.
  • Meets with Chief Therapist for daily huddle to report workflow concerns.
