About The Position

ZIEHL-ABEGG is looking for a high energy and results-oriented Lead Quality Assurance Line Inspector who can be a strong contributor to our heavily expanding company. As Lead Quality Assurance Line Inspector, you play a critical role in ensuring the production of high-quality products by conducting thorough inspections and assessments of items on the production line. Your attention to detail, understanding of quality standards, ability to communicate effectively, and lead a team are vital to maintaining and improving product quality.

Requirements

  • Quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical expertise
  • Maintain 5S standards
  • Ability to read product drawings
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to inspect all types of product produced (CNC, AC, EC, Welding etc.)
  • Experience with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices
  • Ability to stand on concrete for the entirety of the shift
  • Ability to pick up and move parts
  • Flexibility to work overtime as requested
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to make autonomous decisions
  • Ability to focus on relevant work for entirety of the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 70lbs

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ISO compliance standard
  • Product line inspections
  • Support Line Inspectors in all areas of production during daily operations
  • POC for Line Inspectors with questions about product non-conformance and troubleshooting
  • Place purchase requisitions for needed Line Inspector supplies (red tags, inspection stickers etc.)
  • Weekly Inspection Defects Report to be turned into QA Supervisor
  • Work closely with QA Techs and QA Supervisor on process improvements
  • Training new Line Inspectors
  • Oversee training of production employees
  • Scrap/ Rework Tag review, ensuring material accuracy
  • Daily update sent to other shift lead and supervisor
  • Follow posted work instructions
  • Use of calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting at times
  • Hold non-conforming product to prevent it from leaving production
  • Communicate issues on the line to Supervisor, Production Manager, QA Technicians and Quality Manager
  • Work closely with machine operators to ensure quality standards are met
  • Other duties as assigned
