About The Position

ZIEHL-ABEGG, a world-leading fan and motor manufacturer with over 100 years of experience, is seeking a high-energy and results-oriented Lead Quality Assurance Line Inspector to join their expanding company. This role is critical in ensuring the production of high-quality products through thorough inspections and assessments on the production line. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, an understanding of quality standards, effective communication skills, and the ability to lead a team to maintain and improve product quality.

Requirements

  • Quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and technical expertise
  • Maintain 5S standards
  • Ability to read product drawings
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to inspect all types of product produced (CNC, AC, EC, Welding etc.)
  • Experience with calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices
  • Ability to stand on concrete for the entirety of the shift
  • Ability to pick up and move parts
  • Flexibility to work overtime as requested
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to make autonomous decisions
  • Ability to focus on relevant work for entirety of the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 70lbs

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ISO compliance standard
  • Product line inspections
  • Support Line Inspectors in all areas of production during daily operations
  • Act as the point of contact for Line Inspectors with questions about product non-conformance and troubleshooting
  • Place purchase requisitions for needed Line Inspector supplies (red tags, inspection stickers etc.)
  • Submit a Weekly Inspection Defects Report to the QA Supervisor
  • Work closely with QA Techs and QA Supervisor on process improvements
  • Train new Line Inspectors
  • Oversee training of production employees
  • Review Scrap/ Rework Tags, ensuring material accuracy
  • Send a daily update to other shift leads and supervisors
  • Follow posted work instructions
  • Use of calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices
  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting at times
  • Hold non-conforming product to prevent it from leaving production
  • Communicate issues on the line to Supervisor, Production Manager, QA Technicians and Quality Manager
  • Work closely with machine operators to ensure quality standards are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned
