About The Position

The Lead Pulmonary Laboratory Technician is responsible for the operation, upgrade, maintenance, and education for the Pulmonary Blood Gas Laboratory functions. This role also involves providing clinical education to staff and the development, maintenance, and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Graduated from a formal respiratory care program.
  • Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of blood gas machines.
  • Ability to perform and teach Arterial blood drawing and analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of quality control and maintenance procedures for blood gas machines.
  • Licensed by the State of California as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR card.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy or related science.
