About The Position
Alameda County Behavioral Health is seeking a Lead Psychiatrist for Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, CA. This role involves leading psychiatry services staff, including psychiatrists and NPs, and overseeing operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with correctional or county jail work and possess strong collaboration, documentation, and practice skills. The position offers a hybrid work schedule with 3 days on-site per week, a 40-hour work week, and no direct patient care responsibilities within the EMR system.
Requirements
- Board certified or board eligible Psychiatric Physician (MD or DO)
- Experience with correctional or county jail work preferred
- Strong collaboration, documentation, and practice skills
- Possess a National Provider Identifier (NPI) number prior to first day of job
- Active Medicare enrollment required as condition of employment
- Candidates must be computer literate; navigate between various EMR applications including Microsoft products and good key board skills
Responsibilities
- Lead Psychiatry Services staff, including Psychiatrists, NPs, and Quality Assurance review/audit staff
- Supervise NPs
- Attend and/or facilitate onsite meetings and trainings
- Provide operations oversight and scheduling support
- Perform Quality Assurance duties
- Review, provide input on, and help design policies and procedures
- Complete other duties as assigned
