About The Position

SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC (SSE) is seeking a Laurel, Maryland area-based Lead Project Manager to support the U.S. Secret Service campus in Laurel, MD. This position is intended for local hires residing in the Laurel, MD area as working on-site is required. This position is the designated site lead for the project team and the primary contact with the Government. Leader of a construction project. This individual is responsible for the oversight of all construction efforts at a large project site. Requires limited supervision and general direction, independently applies advanced techniques to complex assignments. Viewed as a fully competent, experienced professional.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen-required.
  • Current Secret clearance required before employment
  • Exceptional understanding of design and construction practices, codes, and techniques
  • Ability to read and understand engineering and architectural drawings and specifications
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute complex design and construction projects
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities required.
  • Four-year degree in construction management, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience on commercial or Government construction projects required.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other project management certification highly desirable
  • Experience managing large construction projects highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Primary contact for the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and Contracting Officer on issues relating to personnel.
  • Provides direction to the team, coordinates schedules, and workload.
  • Provides oversight of construction-related activities for contracts.
  • Supports the COR by performing all project management tasks.
  • Provides day-to-day project management for construction and service projects.
  • Coordinates with customers and performs schedule and design reviews.
  • Develops solutions to construction problems or existing conditions encountered in the field.
  • Reviews contractor submittals for contract conformance.
  • Aids the contracting officer and COR throughout the acquisition phases of the project to include answering offerors questions; attending/participating in site orientation visits; and attending/ participating in joint contractor/government meetings.
  • Drafts technical responses to any change orders and prepares statement of work and cost estimates for new contracts and contract modifications.
