About The Position

As related to customer equipment, facilities, or infrastructure projects, this role is responsible for project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through the management of project-related activities and resources. The position is responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on the execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. The role functions with some autonomy but is guided by established policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness, etc.). For non-turnkey projects or product/equipment-only projects, the role is responsible for overseeing the project and providing direct or indirect leadership and/or management of project resources for small-to-medium sized projects (in relation to GE company size) that may include equipment-only, suites of products, or non-turnkey projects. This includes direct people management responsibility, including staffing and performance development. The role utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policy/strategy. It requires knowledge of best practices and how the incumbent's area integrates with others, and awareness of the competition and their market differentiators. The role uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. It uses technical experience and analytical thinking, and multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions. The role acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. The role explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within their field, conveys performance expectations, and may handle sensitive issues.
