About The Position

Kokosing is seeking a Lead Engineer (Water/Wastewater construction) in the Detroit market. This role involves working onsite with the Team to plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities for Water/Wastewater projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred or equivalent technical training and related experience.
• 5+ years of similar construction engineering experience.
• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards.
• In-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines.

Nice To Haves

• Bridge experience is a strong plus.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities, including personnel planning and administration, work assignments, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the overall construction schedule (Primavera P6).
• Provide technical support for the construction effort, including participation in construction planning and design; interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of design conflicts; and contractibility reviews.
• Develop, implement, and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents (submittals, RFI’s, expediting material deliveries, payment of Subcontractors/Vendors and Owner pay requests).
• Represent the company, project, and/or department during A/E, client, and project management meetings.
• Interface with all on-site departments as required to resolve problems and ensure quality of construction in support of the overall project schedule.
• Oversee all pre-construction services, design build services, and business development for the project.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
