About The Position

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Lead Project Engineer (F-18 Programs) to join the F/A-18 Project Engineering Team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. The selected candidate will be the single technical point of contact to the F/A-18 customer and Boeing leadership for various engineering changes. The candidate will also maintain technical management of the project by preparing project plans and measuring progress. It is expected that daily communication and coordination with the customer is a part of the battle rhythm. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Berkeley, MO. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; Domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim/Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in engineering
  • 1+ years of experience in project or program management
  • 5 or more years of experience communicating with internal and external customers
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Sufficient knowledge and experience of other related engineering disciplines to allow their integration
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required for security clearance
  • An interim/Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
  • Must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements
  • A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing cost and schedule performance using Earned-Value Management (EVM) principles
  • Experience developing and/or maintaining customer-focused metrics and reporting
  • Experience supporting the F/A-18 or other military program

Responsibilities

  • Leads Engineering Change Proposal activity from RFP (Request from Proposal) and proposal development, through execution and contract delivery / closeout
  • Coordinates with technical leads, other program product teams, suppliers, and Boeing Global Services as appropriate to ensure proposal and project statement of work are executed on time
  • Identifies and maintains day-to-day oversight of cost, schedule, and performance metrics and reporting to leadership
  • Maintains working-level customer relationships on the effort
  • Manages and ensures deliverables are submitted on time
  • Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program
  • Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity
  • Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned
  • Provides technical, business and integration for the development and execution of projector team plan
