About The Position

The Boeing Company, Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Level 5) to join the F/A-18 Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT) Team in Berkeley, MO. The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for integrating across teams to drive engineering excellence in the execution of our F/A-18 development activities. The individual selected for this role will be focused on the Technical Integration role for Software Development and Advanced Systems activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 10+ years of engineering experience
  • 5+ years’ experience working on Mission systems
  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for integrating across teams to ensure safety, technical excellence, and product integrity.
  • Drives adherence to Boeing and program processes, setting high standards for quality and performance.
  • Ensure an integrated systems engineering approach.
  • Take ownership to manage requirements and ensure full traceability.
  • Manage the configuration of the integrated system to ensure dependencies are well understood.
  • Responsible for ensuring comprehensive certification and verification activities, demonstrating a commitment to excellence.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with the United States Navy (USN), engineering functions, and program management.
  • Leverage these partnerships to enhance collaboration and drive program success.
  • Oversees the technical baseline, including mission systems configuration, technical performance measures, architecture diagrams, and Risk Identification and Opportunity (RIO) assessments.
  • Foster a culture of proactive technical oversight and continuous improvement.
  • Showcase strong analytical and problem-solving skills by driving emerging issues to prompt resolution.
  • Elevate concerns to management and program leadership as necessary.
  • Investigate System Anomaly Reports in partnership with Mission Systems to ensure a quality deliverable.
  • Work closely with technical experts and teammates to foster creativity, achieve program objectives, and build customer trust.
  • Ensure development estimates capture appropriate scope and complexity.
