About The Position

Kokosing is seeking a Lead Engineer with a focus on Water/Wastewater construction for projects in the Mid-Atlantic region, specifically open to candidates in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia markets. This role involves working onsite with the team to plan, develop, coordinate, and manage all onsite construction engineering activities for Water/Wastewater projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred or equivalent technical training and related experience.
• 5+ years of similar construction engineering experience.
• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards.
• In-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines.

Nice To Haves

• Bridge experience is a strong plus.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities, including personnel planning and administration, work assignments, and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the overall construction schedule (Primavera P6).
• Provide technical support for the construction effort, including participation in construction planning and design, interpretation of design, application of construction methods, resolution and documentation of design conflicts, and contractibility reviews.
• Develop, implement, and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents (submittals, RFI’s, expediting material deliveries, payment of Subcontractors/Vendors and Owner pay requests).
• Represent the company, project, and/or department during A/E, client, and project management meetings.
• Interface with all on-site departments as required to resolve problems and ensure the quality of construction in support of the overall project schedule.
• Oversee all pre-construction services, design build services, and business development for the project.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by a supervisor.
