About The Position

The Lead Program Resident Monitor will arrange, coordinate, supervise, mentor, and oversee the Monitors’ efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of Pathway Home participants. Lead Monitor shall provide safety training to monitor staff and provide ongoing safety oversight, acting as a leader, collaborator, and an important voice into continuous improvement of processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Have two years of experience working with homeless individuals with mental illness, chronic health issues, and/or substance use disorders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and discretion
  • Permanent U.S. residency or citizenship
  • Ability to pass criminal clearance background check
  • Ability to successfully pass a TB screening test
  • Valid California state driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a good driving record
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-shift leader for all Program Resident Monitors; providing real-time direction, guidance, and support throughout the shift
  • Plan personal shifts to observe each shift during the week
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incidents, participant escalations, and emergencies during their shift
  • Manage emergency situations – including medical emergencies, overdoses, and evacuations – until site manager or first responders arrive
  • Ensure all incidents are documented accurately, completely, and submitted on time in accordance with contractual and agency standards
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all Program Resident Monitor reports and all other required shift documentation
  • Provide leadership coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
  • Support schedule coverage, shift coordination, and staff accountability as directed by management
  • Conduct regular wellness checks to ensure participants’ safety and well-being.
  • Provide access to meals and snacks, ensuring participants are adequately nourished during their stay at Pathway Home
  • Support participants transitioning from outdoor living or vehicles to indoor accommodations
  • Engage participants in harm reduction services and offer supportive resources as needed
  • Collaborated with housekeeping, maintenance and program staff to ensure the provision of clean linens, hygiene supplies, and janitorial services
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining site security plans, including monitoring entry and exit points, ensuring adequate lighting, and de-escalating conflicts
  • Report on security or safety concerns to program management and on-site security personnel
  • Provide reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities, families and those with emotional or service animals in compliance with ADA
  • Ensure services and accommodations respect participants’ self-identified gender identities
  • Ensure that participants receive three nutritious meals daily, including two hot meals
  • Post daily menus and meal schedules in visible locations
  • Distribute hygiene supplies such as soap, toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, etc.
  • Work closely with program staff, housekeeping, and community partners to meet participants needs
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership
