About The Position

The Lead, Program Manager is responsible for leading large, complex, and high-visibility programs or projects with significant cross-functional coordination requirements. This role provides end-to-end project leadership, including planning, execution, business operations, risk management, financial oversight, stakeholder communication, and delivery against cost, schedule, and performance objectives. Acts as the customer interface for program activities and participates in program meetings/reviews with the customer and executive staff. Work with the technical team to establish design concepts, evaluate technical concerns and develop an approach for integration and test. Establishes IMS milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules; identifies challenges, opportunities and risk across the program, such as allocation of resources or changing technical or contractual specifications. Direct the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas. This position serves as a leader and trusted partner to internal and external stakeholders and may mentor less experienced program managers across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, finance, management, or related field and typically 12 years of prior relevant experience in project/program management, or graduate degree with 10 years of related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 15 years of prior related project/program management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, engineering, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated program management, negotiation, organizational, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with engineering, manufacturing, and management personnel.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly/professionally with the Customer, Company Sr. Management, and Functional Groups
  • Demonstrated experience with problem resolution and process improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple and competing deadlines.
  • Demonstrated understanding of finance, accounting, or business operations.
  • Demonstrated experience with SAP and MS Office suite to include MS Outlook and Project.
  • Active Secret, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret (TS/SCI).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP financial reporting data and material processes.
  • Knowledge of functional bidding and forecasting tools including EEST, Labor Tracking System (LTS), Material Tracking System (MTS), Project Work Authorization Generator (PWAG), and Engineering/Manufacturing Change Requests (ECR/MCR).
  • Experienced and comfortable briefing to high-level customer strongly desired.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and create execution plans.
  • Ability to read and interpret Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
  • Experience in Commercial and Military Aviation/Aerospace products development and production.

Responsibilities

  • Manage preparation of proposals, and specifications of contract for SILs, periodic depot maintenance, aircraft requirements, FAA requirements and other aircraft configuration paperwork.
  • Analyze bids, plus assist in development of deliverables, schedule, and performance Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Manage the cost, schedule, and technical performance of program.
  • Manage Subcontractors supporting the fleet in Depot/PDM at LHX Greenville Proper.
  • Act as primary customer contact for program maintenance activities, leading program review sessions with customers to discuss cost and technical performance to ensure seamless execution.
  • Drive all phases of aircraft requirements and modification installation planning and execution from inception through completion.
  • Drive program planning to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs.
  • Participate in the negotiation of contract and contract changes.
  • Work with Functions assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing, and administrative areas to identify areas of improvement for systems and processes.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of co-workers, senior management, and customer.
  • Manage and work in a SIL environment that is fast paced, demanding, with a focus on problem resolution and process improvement.
