About The Position

The Lead Program Engineer is a recognized technical leader within Blattner’s Major Projects Group, driving design quality, consistency, and innovation across concurrent projects in wind, solar, battery energy storage (BESS), and gas. The role supports cross-department standards and initiatives and prioritizes collective success and team development. It may lead Project Engineers, Engineer I/II staff, and CAD Designers, providing technical direction, mentorship, and professional development. The position leads the project engineering lifecycle from project award through design delivery, construction support, and closeout, with attention to schedule conformance and financial impact. It serves as the lead engineering contact for Owners and Engineer of Record teams, develops Bases of Design, manages RFIs, reviews designs and contracts, validates takeoffs, and coordinates resources and design schedules. The role partners with supply chain, estimating, construction, vendors, and outside engineering firms to support safe, cost-effective, and efficient project delivery. The Lead Program Engineer also drives change management, lessons learned, constructability assessments, portfolio-wide design consistency, and department initiatives. It mentors and develops engineers, supports hiring and promotion decisions, and communicates with internal and external stakeholders throughout all project phases. Travel is estimated at up to 50%, fluctuating with project and business needs. The role may require becoming a qualified individual in pursuit of company contract licensing. Blattner cannot sponsor H-1B visas or permanent residency; applicants must have valid, independent work authorization.
