About The Position
This role is for a Team Lead – Senior Cost Controller who will strengthen project controls practices and ensure robust cost monitoring and performance management. The individual will oversee cost control across multiple mandates while leading a team of professionals, directly contributing to impactful projects for clients and the communities served. WSP is a global professional services firm partnering with clients across various sectors, aiming to shape communities and advance humanity through innovative solutions and deep local knowledge combined with global insights.
Requirements
- University degree, bachelor’s in engineering, finance, project management or a related field
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in cost control within complex engineering project environments
- Proven expertise in Earned Value Management EVM and project financial control
- Demonstrated experience in team management and development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in dynamic environments
- Bilingualism is required as the individual will frequently be involved in projects with English-speaking clients and partners outside Quebec

- Knowledge of AACE and PMI frameworks and certifications strong asset
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Manage budgets and forecasts to ensure the financial health of projects
- Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions to optimize performance
- Apply Earned Value Management EVM principles to support decision-making
- Ensure rigorous tracking of project performance in collaboration with stakeholders
- Manage changes and their financial impacts throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with processes, policies and contractual requirements
- Lead, engage and develop a cost control team
- Allocate resources across projects
- Ensure the quality of deliverables
- Review and approve outputs
- Participate in recruitment
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
