About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Lead Production Associate for their 1st shift operations. This role involves overseeing daily manufacturing operations for assigned production lines, providing direction and training to team members to meet production requirements while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. The Lead Production Associate will also monitor line staffing, perform routine line checks, sustain manufacturing methods, and ensure components and paperwork are ready for the next schedule. Collaboration with other shift leaders, supervisors, quality assurance, production staff, warehouse operations, and maintenance personnel is crucial for smooth production runs and optimal equipment performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2+ years of lead and/or leadership experience
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Ability to give and follow written and verbal work instructions.
  • Basic problem-solving skills and the ability to ask questions when issues arise.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate respectfully with others.
  • Commitment to working safely and following all safety rules and procedures.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work scheduled hours, including overtime as needed.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing or production experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations for assigned production lines or areas.
  • Provide direction, guidance, and training to team members in line with established manufacturing policies to meet production requirements.
  • Ensure work is performed with a consistent focus on safety, quality, and efficient production.
  • Comply with and enforce all company safety policies to ensure an accident-free facility, including identifying and correcting safety issues.
  • Provide direction to all production team members to ensure key metrics are met accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor line staffing and recommend plans to adjust staffing levels daily to achieve established goals while controlling manpower costs.
  • Perform routine line checks several times daily to ensure efficiency and to check on progress of machine, production, and personnel.
  • Sustain manufacturing methods such as 5S, Problem Solving, Visual Management, and Line Organization.
  • Ensure compliance with CTQ process and other quality measures.
  • Ensure all components and paperwork for the next schedule are ready.
  • Interact with other shift Team Leaders, Supervisors, Quality Assurance, Production Staff, and Warehouse operations to achieve smooth production runs.
  • Work closely with maintenance personnel to ensure all equipment is running at optimal levels for expected output and product quality.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
