Lead Product Manager, New Customer Experience

LawnStarter•Chicago, IL
•$170,000 - $210,000•Remote

About The Position

LawnStarter is hiring a Lead Product Manager to own the consumer’s first service experience, from first encountering the company through signing up and booking a first service. The role will define what this experience should become and build it in partnership with engineering, design, operations, marketing, and data. The work spans the home page and marketing site; signup and booking across LawnStarter, Lawn Love, and Home Gnome; funnel data; quotes, services, and scheduling; and checkout, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. This is a first-principles redesign rather than incremental funnel optimization. The Lead PM will evaluate whether the existing flow should remain, explore an AI-native and agentic signup experience using prototypes with real customers, and establish a path to validate the new experience before replacing the existing flow. The role also requires coordinating with stakeholders who own related pricing, Pro supply, and operations levers. The position is an individual-contributor role with Lead-level scope and no direct reports. The Lead PM will work closely with the Consumer Experience lead, the Pro Experience PM, the Pricing PM, and the Conversational AI & Agents lead, and will report to the Sr. Director of Product. Success in the first year includes a customer-grounded vision supported by leadership, a meaningful part of the experience shipped to real customers, improved signup conversion and first-service bookings, and high first-service customer satisfaction. The role is fully remote within the US. LawnStarter describes its work environment as frugal, with a lean engineering team and a partly legacy stack. Base salary is $170,000 to $210,000. Benefits listed include medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible PTO, and equity.
