About The Position

Eaton's Global Distributed IT organization is currently seeking a Lead Product Application Engineer to join our team in Woodridge, IL. This position is part of a dynamic data center white space marketing team and serves as a technical expert for the application of in-rack power products. This will be a hybrid role (3 days in office / 2 days home). This role is responsible for marketing, product, and application support in assigned product categories. You will also define and service immediate customer requirements, identify opportunities for new product development, and promote existing products to drive profitable product line growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in marketing, engineering, sales, or product support.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing
  • Two (2) or more years of experience working with data center power distribution systems.
  • Strong knowledge of product development methodologies, including stage-gate or similar processes.
  • Proficiency in enterprise tools, including SAP, Enovia, Office 365 Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI), and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively own assigned product categories in collaboration with sales team to drive growth and establish priorities.
  • Perform specification/application reviews and coordinate proposals for larger more complex quotations.
  • Work with Eaton’s field sales team to cultivate customer relationships and specify appropriate products, solutions, and innovation ideas. Meet with customers to demonstrate product features, discuss needs, sales opportunities, and product issues.
  • Support analysis and resolution of customer complaints.
  • Handles more complex technical issues and provides advanced solutions.
  • Collect voice of customer (VOC), develop product requirements, and prepare/present business cases for highly strategic projects.
  • Coordinate promotional material, sales tools, and programs.
  • Conduct sales force training advanced product applications and drive development of additional training materials.
  • Serve as marketing representative in new product project teams for highly strategic projects.
  • Lead marketing projects such as marketing studies, competitive studies, and customer loyalty programs.
  • Monitor industry trends, application trends, competitive products, and new technology developments to become technical expert on in-rack power products and markets.
  • Identify and analyze opportunities for product innovation.
  • Participate in developing long term strategies and marketing material for business reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the marketing team.
