Lead Product Analyst

Bethink LabsToronto, ON

About The Position

At Bethink Labs, we believe the most important products of the next decade haven't been built yet, but we sure are working on it. We're a product innovation firm working at the forefront of AI-enabled experiences. We launch new products to market through our innovation studio and partner with leading brands ready to move past the hype and ship real, scalable AI into the hands of their customers. We work across automotive, healthcare, fitness, sports, media, and games. Not because we can't pick a lane, but because the problems worth solving never do. We don't hire just for talent, we hire for passion. We're a crew of engineers, designers, and product leaders who pour themselves into everything they touch, whether that's a product launch or a hobby they picked up two weeks ago that they're already weirdly good at. Headquartered in California with an office in Toronto and teammates across North America, you'll work on AI-driven client engagements and internal innovations alongside people who care deeply about craft, move fast without cutting corners, and will absolutely drop a Star Wars prequel quote on you in a Slack thread when you least expect it. We're shaping how intelligent systems show up in everyday life, and we're looking for people who want in. Pull up a chair and help us build products that matter. We're seeking a skilled Lead Product Analyst to join our team. In this role, you'll build our analytics function, establishing the infrastructure, processes, and best practices that will define how we measure and understand product performance across engagements. You'll set up, manage, and optimize analytics tools for external-facing applications, translate user behaviour into actionable insights, and ensure your stakeholders and product teams have the data they need to make informed decisions. You'll be the go-to expert for analytics implementation, working closely with Product and Engineering to instrument tracking, establishing data pipelines into data lakes, and creating reports that tell the story of how users are interacting with the products we build. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with the ability to translate complex data into clear narratives that drive product strategy. You're someone who thrives on turning raw data into meaningful insights, has strong instincts for what metrics matter, and knows how to build analytics infrastructure from scratch.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a Data Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role at a software company, ideally with exposure to external-facing consumer or B2B products
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related analytical discipline
  • Hands-on experience implementing and managing product analytics platforms like Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Segment - not just using them as a consumer of dashboards
  • Deep working knowledge of event tracking and tagging strategy
  • Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines and working with cloud data warehouses or data lakes (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar)
  • Strong SQL skills, with the ability to query large, messy datasets efficiently and pull out the signal
  • A track record of communicating data-driven insights to non-technical audiences in a way that drives decisions
  • Comfort operating with autonomy and taking ownership of an existing practice, finding ways to make more impactful
  • A leadership mindset - even without direct reports, you think about the long-term vision for analytics, not just the next dashboard, and you raise the bar for the people around you
  • A collaborative working style, with the ability to partner effectively across Product, Engineering, and Leadership

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a leading figure in our product analytics practice, owning day-to-day execution while helping evolve our existing capabilities to the next level
  • Manage and optimize our product analytics stack (Amplitude, Mixpanel, or similar) for external-facing applications, ensuring it continues to serve as a reliable source of truth for user behaviour
  • Refine and expand our event tracking strategy, partnering closely with Engineering to instrument web and mobile applications with clean, consistent, well-documented events and properties
  • Strengthen the standards, naming conventions, and documentation that govern how analytics works across our applications, raising the bar as the practice matures
  • Build and maintain the data pipelines that move analytics data into our data lake (Snowflake or similar)
  • Develop dashboards and self-serve reporting that give Product, Engineering, and leadership real-time visibility into user behaviour, usage trends, feature adoption, and product performance
  • Lead deep-dive analyses to answer the questions dashboards can't, and turn findings into clear recommendations the team can act on
  • Deliver a monthly analytics readout to senior stakeholders that synthesizes the numbers, the narrative, and the "so what" into an executive summary
  • Partner with Product Managers to define success metrics for new features and initiatives, and make sure our analytics infrastructure is set up to measure them before launch, not after
  • Be the analytics voice in the room, translating data into recommendations that influence roadmap and strategy, and presenting to audiences ranging from individual PMs to executive leadership

  • commission
