About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join our Manufacturing team in Pullman, WA. This role involves leading engineers, associate engineers, and technicians in the expansion, development, deployment, and sustainment of PCBA cleaning and conformal coating processes. The position focuses on optimizing manufacturing performance by improving equipment reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and increasing operational efficiency. The Process Engineering team supports process improvement, root cause analysis, and preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years' experience in electronic manufacturing processes and PCBA cleaning and conformal coating equipment.
  • Leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Satisfactory background check results and negative drug test result(s).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PCBA cleaning and conformal coating processes.

Responsibilities

  • Leading engineers, associate engineers, and technicians in the expansion, development, deployment, and sustainment of PCBA cleaning and conformal coating processes.
  • Mentoring and coaching other engineers and technicians.
  • Assisting management in developing and driving the execution of operational and strategic objectives.
  • Driving high quality and efficiency in the manufacturing processes, operations and tools.
  • Managing or preparing documentation, including experiments, component and equipment qualifications, assembly materials qualifications, etc.
  • Modeling, teaching, and applying SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
  • Optimizing manufacturing performance by improving equipment reliability, reducing unplanned downtime, and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Supporting process improvement, root cause analysis, and preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.
