Mozilla Corporation is seeking a strategic, pragmatic, and proactive Privacy Counsel to join their privacy legal team. This role will focus primarily on building, operationalizing, and maintaining Mozilla’s core privacy compliance infrastructure and scalable privacy governance processes across their global organization. Working remotely, this individual will serve as frontline privacy counsel for internal privacy matters, advising teams across Mozilla on operational privacy risks, enterprise data governance, third-party risk management, and incident response. The role involves partnering closely with legal, security, IT, engineering, procurement, people, trust and safety, and other cross-functional stakeholders to help operationalize privacy-by-design principles across Mozilla’s internal systems and enterprise processes, and to develop their privacy compliance and risk-management strategy. This is a highly collaborative and execution-oriented role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership of complex initiatives, and can independently drive programs from strategy through implementation. The role requires someone who is both a leader and a “doer” – someone with deep expertise but who isn’t above rolling up their sleeves to take on tasks necessary to help make sure the job gets done. The ideal candidate combines strong substantive privacy expertise with experience building durable compliance infrastructure and managing enterprise privacy operations in a fast-moving technology environment.
