Preschool Teacher - 3 year old classroom
About The Position
Chambliss Center for Children is hiring a Lead Preschool Teacher for its 3-year-old classroom at the Red Bank Center. The teacher will lead a classroom with support from an organization specializing in early childhood education. Chambliss Center for Children is a Chattanooga nonprofit that has supported children and families for more than 150 years. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It offers hourly pay of $12–$17, based on education and experience. Pay starts at $13.50 or more with a CDA and $15 or more with an associate's degree. The position is weekdays only, with no nights or weekends.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of classroom experience with children ages 2–5.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 18 years old.
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine love for young children.
- Ability to get down on the floor with children, stay on your feet, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead activities that build children's social, emotional, physical, and early learning skills.
- Maintain steady daily routines and smooth transitions.
- Use positive guidance to help children develop independence and learn to get along with others.
- Keep children safe and supervised while following licensing requirements.
- Keep the classroom clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Partner with families, the co-teacher, and center leadership.
