About The Position

The Learning Experience® – Staten Island, NY is hiring a Lead Teacher for our young preschool classrooms (ages 2-4). Our curriculum focuses on the six ages and stages of early childhood development and engages children in hands-on learning activities that encourage them to explore and solve problems at their own rate of development. This forms a foundation for kids to Learn, Play and Grow under the care of our nurturing teachers and staff. At TLE®, we’ve created a full cast of characters that become our little learners’ educators, partners and friends through their preschool education journey. Each character has a unique personality and area of interest and brings learning to life by allowing children to explore the world through fun and imagination.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of preschool, daycare, or childcare teaching experience
• Bachelors Degree or 90 credits of Early Childhood Education (or currently on a Study Plan in Education)
• Knowledge of early childhood education and DAP
• Strong leadership and classroom management skills
• CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Lead a childcare classroom using our L.E.A.P. Curriculum®
• Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging preschool environment
• Coach and mentor assistant teachers
• Manage daily routines, activities, and classroom structure
• Communicate with families about child progress and development
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children
