About The Position
LeafSpring Schools is seeking an experienced and passionate Lead Preschool Teacher to lead their own classroom in a nurturing, high-quality preschool environment. Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (required or in progress)
- Minimum 1–2 years of classroom experience in a licensed preschool or early childhood center
- Proven ability to lead classroom activities and routines with confidence and consistency
- Strong knowledge of child development, learning domains, and early intervention best practices
- Effective communication skills with children, families, and co-workers
- A love for young children and a commitment to their growth and well-being

- Familiarity with curriculum models that are based on learn through play.
- Knowledge of state child care licensing regulations and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage a classroom that promotes preschool readiness, emotional intelligence, and social skill development.
- Mentor assistant teachers.
- Work closely with families.
- Develop and implement lesson plans based on developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) and individualized instruction.
- Lead circle time, group activities, learning centers, and classroom transitions.
- Foster early academic skills including pre-literacy, numeracy, fine motor skills, and language development.
- Utilize observation and assessment tools to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Create a structured, engaging, and nurturing environment aligned with NAEYC standards.
- Supervise and guide Assistant Teachers and Aides, modeling effective teaching strategies and classroom routines.
- Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and safety protocols.
- Implement positive behavior guidance and social-emotional learning strategies.
- Maintain open communication with families through daily updates, progress reports, and scheduled conferences.
- Support and attend family engagement events, parent education sessions, and school celebrations.
- Collaborate with school administrators and fellow teachers to ensure alignment with school goals and state licensing standards.
