About The Position

Soccer Stars and Amazing Athletes offer high-energy, educational sports programs for young children in Colorado Springs, introducing them to multiple sports while fostering confidence, coordination, teamwork, healthy habits, and a love for movement. We are a growing local business seeking an experienced coach to manage our existing preschool classes. The ideal candidate will be dependable, confident, and capable of independently running weekday multi-sport preschool classes and potentially Saturday morning soccer classes. While curriculum, lesson plans, equipment, and training are provided, the ability to confidently lead a group of preschoolers and create an engaging class environment is paramount. The role requires a strong personality that is comfortable being animated, speaking loudly, taking charge, and being the center of attention.

Requirements

• Experience working directly with preschool-aged children
• Comfortable independently leading and controlling a full class of preschoolers from day one after training
• High-energy, expressive, confident personality
• Excellent reliability and punctuality
• Ability to adapt quickly—preschool classes rarely go exactly according to plan
• Reliable transportation throughout the Colorado Springs area
• Able to safely demonstrate physical activities and carry sports equipment
• Able to pass a background check
• Not uncomfortable being animated, speaking loudly, taking charge of a group, or being the center of attention

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
• Experience in preschool or daycare classrooms
• Experience with Pre-K or Kindergarten
• Experience with child development
• Experience in youth recreation
• Experience in youth sports coaching
• Sports knowledge or playing experience

Responsibilities

• Independently lead sports and movement classes for preschool-aged children
• Teach simple, age-appropriate sports skills through games, imagination, and play
• Keep children engaged, active, smiling, and participating
• Confidently manage behavior and maintain control of the class
• Adapt activities quickly based on age, class size, space, energy level, or unexpected circumstances
• Set up and organize equipment before and after classes
• Build positive relationships with children, teachers, directors, and parents
• Represent Amazing Athletes professionally at partner schools
