About The Position

The Lead Precertification Specialist contacts insurance companies and third-party administrators to determine pre-authorization and/or medical necessity requirements for outpatient radiology exams and procedures. The specialist obtains pre-authorization before scheduled services are performed and serves as a liaison between patients and referring physician offices when additional clinical documentation is needed. This is a fully remote position working in the Central time zone.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills for communicating with patients, physicians, clients, coworkers, and management staff.
• Excellent phone and computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Healthcare background preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical billing and managed care.
• Background with the eClinicalWorks Practice Management System preferred.

Responsibilities
