About The Position

This position is a full-time grant funded. Employment is seasonal, generally consistent with the K-12 academic year. Reemployment is contingent upon job performance/evaluation, continued funding of the program, and other acceptable County procedures. As an experienced preschool teacher, you will create a safe and engaging learning environment for preschool children while working as a team to provide quality services to children and families enrolled in the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP). You will document developmental progress to make assessments to scaffold children's learning. With your experience managing preschool children safely, you will also help create an inclusive environment for children who may come with a variety of individual needs. You will work as a member of a team providing required expectations to children enrolled in the program, demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and interact appropriately with coworkers, supervisors, children, families, and community partners. Punctuality is essential, including work schedule, meetings, and conferences. Following ECEAP child guidance and support procedures. Meeting deadlines of assignments with accuracy and information is also important. You'll need to provide excellent customer service, have the ability to multitask, work effectively with distractions, work under pressure, make quick/appropriate decisions, and have the ability to take direction and feedback. Throughout the onboarding process, you will meet with the Managers, Supervisors, and teams, regularly to discuss expectations, set goals, identify priorities, and gain familiarity with current policies, procedures, and strategic measures. Requirements

Associate Degree or two-year degree in the field of social work, psychology or a field relevant to the program from an accredited institution of higher education is required
Two years of successful relevant experience is required.
A criminal history check including fingerprints is required prior to hire for positions in the Child and Family Services, Developmental Disabilities and Aging and Long Term Care Programs.
A valid Washington State driver's license may be required when travel is required of the position.
Successfully complete a Portable Background Check through the Department of Early Learning before the first day of employment.
Pediatric First Aide/CPR card and Food Handler's permit is required within 90 days of hire.
Health statement, TB skin test or for those individuals with a positive skin test a statement from a doctor or chest x-ray must be furnished upon hire.
Proof of MMR or immunity.
As a condition of employment, the applicant will need to authorize and complete a background check.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Manage early childhood classroom, and provide scheduled home visits to parents/guardians.
Maneuver around an active classroom consistently.
Support a safe, positive social and emotional classroom learning environment including attachment and bonding relationships.
Assess the social, intellectual, emotional, nutritional and physical needs of children; develop child- and adult-directed educational activities based on these assessed needs.
Provide an integrated, child centered, comprehensive curriculum and multicultural environment designed to meet the need of every child, including those with special needs.
