About The Position

Lead Platform Automation Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining test automation frameworks. You will contribute to the design of test data management practices and develop tools to support test infrastructure. This role requires working closely with engineering teams and help create scalable, high-performance testing solutions, applying modern testing techniques to ensure quality standards are met across all environments. Lead Platform Automation Engineer will mentor junior engineers, advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle, and support the adoption of shift-left testing practices. They will also contribute to building robust CI/CD pipelines that enable fast feedback and continuous delivery of quality software.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of quality engineering practices for financial technology solutions.
  • Drive the design, development, and maintenance of test frameworks to ensure efficient and consistent testing across the enterprise.
  • Lead efforts to improve and extend automation frameworks, ensuring they are maintainable, scalable, and aligned with the quality objectives.
  • Responsible for defining and enforcing testing standards, automation strategies, and best practices across the SDLC.
  • Lead efforts to analyze and resolve complex problems, performance bottlenecks, and quality gaps in systems, driving improvements in software efficiency and robustness.
  • Design and maintain tools for generating, managing, and cleaning test data across multiple environments to support both automated and manual testing.
  • Integrate testing tools and frameworks into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring testing is automated throughout the build and deployment process.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test environments and data solutions to ensure system reliability and predictability.
  • Lead efforts to provide value-stream aligned engineering teams with the tools and resources needed for success, driving continuous improvements and optimizing testing processes across the platform.
  • Serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor across quality engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Mentor quality engineers and foster a collaborative culture around test-driven development (TDD) and automation practices.
  • Demonstrate deep expertise in at least two programming/scripting languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python) and lead the design, development, and execution of automated testing frameworks for mission-critical applications.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in platform quality engineering, specifically within financial technology, payment systems, and cloud environments.
  • Drive the adoption of emerging testing technologies, ensuring they align with the company’s innovation and quality engineering strategy.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to configure testing environments that enable scalable load generation and system response measurement.
  • Advocate for best practices in quality engineering, test automation, test data management, and test infrastructure while leading initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain tools for performance, load, and stress testing, ensuring they simulate real-world traffic and use cases.

  • Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.
  • Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December.
