About The Position

As a Lead Planner (JS2), you will lead a team focused on delivering high-quality project planning and scheduling services to influence the on-time and on-budget delivery of project objectives. You will play a key leadership role in coaching and developing team leaders and planning teams, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring consistent delivery of planning excellence across the project.

Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience leading planning teams on large, complex mining projects, ideally within an owner’s team environment
  • 15+ years of experience in project management and project controls
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Strong proficiency in Project Controls systems, including Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI, and standard business applications
  • Deep understanding of earned value management
  • Strong knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and commissioning processes
  • Engineering or construction management knowledge developed through formal training and/or progressive practical experience
  • Understanding of supervisory practices, personnel administration, and capability development across technical and non-technical teams
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across peers, leadership, and external stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Translate project objectives into detailed project plans and schedules, identifying critical activities and driving continuous improvement
  • Manage planning and scheduling activities with a high level of technical expertise
  • Monitor and manage project performance to ensure alignment with safety standards, schedule, budget, and scope
  • Develop, forecast, and benchmark schedule estimates in line with industry standards and practices
  • Prioritize work effort and allocate resources effectively
  • Lead presentations and facilitate workshops to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Apply and evaluate change management tools, methods, and data to support delivery and strategic direction
  • Integrate risk management processes with project controls activities including forecasting, planning, change management, and claims
  • Provide technical schedule support for commercial claims
