About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Lead Phlebotomist to join their team. This role involves providing coverage and traveling to various sites to perform phlebotomy duties, assisting in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists, performing site inspections, and providing continuous training. The Lead Phlebotomist will also manage patient flow, address customer service issues, and perform all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed. Requirements

  • Washington State issued Phlebotomy license (MA-P)
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or more years of experience as a phlebotomist
  • Prior experience in a leadership position
  • Application for a phlebotomy license filed with the WA Department of Health at time of hire may meet license requirement

Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage and travel to various sites to perform phlebotomy job duties
  • Assist in the supervision of a team of phlebotomists covering multiple Patient Service Centers & client sites
  • Observe new employee performance and report observations to the supervisor
  • Perform site inspections on a regular basis and accurately report all findings
  • Provide continuous training to phlebotomy staff as directed
  • Complete new hire and annual competency assessments when necessary
  • Manage and monitor patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
  • Address any customer service related issues in a prompt and respectful manner
  • Review daily/weekly schedule with supervisor and making schedule adjustments as needed
  • Promote team work, cohesiveness and effective communication among coworkers
  • Perform all duties of a phlebotomist and site coordinator as needed
