Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • 1 Year hospital pharmacy tech experience Required
  • RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

  • 3 Years in a Texas Health hospital pharmacy preferred

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate preparation, delivery & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so.
  • Initial and ongoing training of pharmacy technicians to obtain and maintain competency to reflect current practice guidelines.
  • Creating and managing the pharmacy technician schedule including covering open shifts as needed.
  • Ongoing professional development and growth.
  • Assisting with regulatory requirements including ensuring required pharmacy quality assurance documentation is recorded as appropriate.
  • Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and patient safety standards, programs and initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively, develop working relationships and role model teamwork
  • Manage own time and shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.
