Requirements

Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy prior to start of employment
Demonstrates high level of organizational skills
Demonstrates independent functioning
High school graduate or equivalency

Nice To Haves

5 years’ experience in hospital pharmacy experience preferred
IV Certification preferred
Associates degree preferred

Responsibilities

Assisting the operations manager in ensuring the day-to-day duties of technicians are performed
Inventory management, organization, and ordering of supplies, IVs, and other items
Using all drug procuring software and assisting the pharmacy buyer when needed
Maintaining Pyxis (or current dispensing technology) PAR levels
Completing controlled substance audits and assisting in resolution of medication discrepancies
Occasional KPI reporting
Collaborating with IV pharmacist to complete yearly sterile room competencies of IV certified staff
Oversite of the pharmacy technician (HS and college level) students on rotation in the facility
Supporting the free-standing emergency room centers (FEDs)
Assisting in the various activities of the pharmacy department under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
Preparing and distributing medications
Maintaining the drug inventory and maintenance of records
