About The Position

Leads the daily operations of the Pharmacy to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. This role involves managing staff, ensuring efficient workflows, overseeing purchasing and inventory, and providing leadership and development to the pharmacy team. The Lead Pharmacist also plays a crucial role in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and adapting to departmental changes, while also performing staff responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience as determined by the organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Pharmacy required upon hire.
  • R.Ph. - Licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of Kentucky required upon hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

  • Determine, coordinate, and supervise daily staffing assignments.
  • Maintain workflows for assigned area throughout the shift ensuring all assigned work is completed and/or transitioned appropriately to the next shift.
  • Address staff performance in real time where necessary.
  • Manage purchasing and inventory.
  • Provide leadership, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
  • Assist with performance evaluations and corrective actions.
  • Assess quality of services delivered and facilitate staff development programs.
  • Ensure staff compliance with department and organization policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Perform staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
  • Lead the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
  • Identify and solve problems in coordination with department leadership.
  • Effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities when appropriate.
  • Identify and resolve conflicts within their department and involve department leadership as needed.
  • Lead and adapt to departmental changes, communicating during transitions affecting their area and encouraging team members in their area.
