The Lead Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is a Center based PCA who, under the supervision of the Center Manager, assumes a leadership role in providing day-to-day oversight and coordination of day room routines as related to PCA responsibilities. The Lead PCA role models dependability, reliability, and exceptional customer service skills; and promotes a sense of teamwork through demonstration of self-direction and self-motivation. The PACE Personal Care Assistant (PCA) assists PACE participants with meeting identified needs throughout their stay at the Center. This includes personal care, restorative rehabilitation, meals, group and individual activities, and other duties as assigned. PCA’s accompany participants on transportation as needed to ensure safety. PCA’s may be assigned to assist participants with morning care in their homes; or to provide escorts to external appointments. PCA’s actively contribute to the operations of the Day Center by offering suggestions for activities programming and day center workflows and routines. PCA’s are members of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and contribute to participant care planning and assessments.
