About The Position

This role impacts participants lives by providing essential personal care services and health support. The Personal Care Assistant will conduct ongoing participant assessments and monitoring, provide assistance with daily activities, including toileting, grooming, and meals, and aid in maintaining physical activity and exercise routines. The role also involves identifying safety hazards and responding to emergencies, assisting with recreational activities, meal service, and housekeeping, and reporting any changes in participant's condition to center staff. Additionally, the Personal Care Assistant will escort participants to appointments and assist with transportation.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population or if less than one (1) year of experience, must receive appropriate training from the PACE organization upon hiring.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Valid driver's license, insurance and use of personal vehicle.
Ability to work independently and adapt to change.

Nice To Haves

Preferred experience in long-term care or geriatric programs.
Some travel within the region may be required.
