About The Position

The Lead Personal Banker (Member Service Representative IV) position offers a pay range of $29.79 - $44.68 per hour, with a scheduled weekly hour of 40. This role is for the upcoming Chula Vista Branch. The position involves providing World Class Member service, promoting credit union products and services, processing various financial transactions, and handling complex member situations. The Lead Personal Banker will also assist branch management, suggest operational improvements, and complete departmental projects and reports. This role requires delivering face-to-face service, providing consultative services by assessing member needs, and assisting with training new and existing team members. The Lead Personal Banker acts as a departmental resource for complex issues such as payroll, ATM/EFT transactions, checking account problems, trusts, IRAs, deceased accounts, legal matters, and sensitive account issues. They also provide assistance and information on Real Estate products and services, acting as a resource for complex Real Estate transactions. A thorough knowledge of complex savings products, IRAs, deceased and legal accounts is required, along with basic knowledge of the Real Estate loan process. The role involves assisting with disputed loan decisions, complex loan requests and transactions, and analyzing consumer loan applications and financial/credit data. The Lead Personal Banker may have the authority to approve or deny loans within their assigned authority level and has thorough knowledge of the consumer loan process. They will process new memberships, additional share accounts, savings services, loan requests, and loan fundings. Additional duties include complying with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements, including BSA regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 5-7 years of previous related experience required
  • Participation in the CA DMV pull program may be required depending on assignment

Responsibilities

  • Provides World Class Member service to Members visiting branch/service center locations.
  • Provides detailed information and promotes credit union products and services to build relationships.
  • Processes transactions in areas of savings, consumer loans, real estate loans and auxiliary credit union services.
  • Handles most complex situations in specialty area of expertise.
  • Acts as lead to assist branch management in functioning of branch.
  • Provides suggestions for streamlining department and credit union operations.
  • Assists with completing projects and reports related to the department.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Delivers World Class face-to-face service to Members requesting account assistance.
  • Provides consultative services to Members regarding credit union products and services by assessing the Member's needs, addressing their concerns and gaining agreement.
  • Assists the branch with training of new teammembers and cross training of existing teammembers in area of specialty; keeps up to date with policy/procedure updates.
  • Acts as department resource for more complex issues including payroll processes, ATM card issues, EFT transactions and checking account problems.
  • Provides Members with assistance on trusts, IRAs, deceased, legal, and more sensitive account issues.
  • Provides Members with assistance and information on Real Estate products and services.
  • Refers applicants as necessary to Real Estate.
  • Acts as department resource for more complex Real Estate transactions.
  • Assists branch team with face-to-face discussions regarding disputed loan decisions as needed.
  • Assists team and Members with complex loan requests and transactions.
  • Analyzes consumer loan applications and pertinent Member financial and credit data.
  • May have the authority to approve or deny loans within assigned authority level.
  • Processes new Memberships, additional share accounts, savings services, loan requests and loan fundings as requested by Member.
  • Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties.
