About The Position

The Lead Person is responsible for assisting supervision in ensuring and improving the performance of their area. This role involves working to eliminate waste and ensure operators have the necessary resources for safety and productivity. The Lead Person is typically responsible for work within the stores department.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge, skill, and ability.
• Mastery of workstation/jobs in their area, including standard adherence, knowledge, training ability, and ability to improve standards.
• Organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to coach a Continuous Improvement mindset in daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all workstations and tools are operating safely and that all operators follow safety rules.
• Perform duties of normal classification, possessing knowledge of all jobs in their area and the best standardized work methods.
• Coordinate activities of co-workers under the direction of Front Line Leaders.
• Train and instruct co-workers on the best standardized work methods for each job.
• Assist operators with minor equipment and tooling problems.
• Work to resolve departmental problems and report to supervision.
• Monitor the quality level of the assigned area, take corrective action on quality problems, and report findings or suggestions to the supervisor.
• Focus on issues impacting daily performance to drive continuous improvement.
