About The Position

Thompson Pipe Group is a privately held family business of engineers, contractors, and manufacturers. From humble beginnings, they have built a family of products to meet the needs of all kinds of infrastructure, with each generation of products being better than the previous. Thompson Pipe Group is now the largest and diverse drainage, sanitary, pressure and trench-less pipe provider, with manufacturing locations across the country and serving not just the US but all of North America. The company is currently looking for a Lead Person. The starting pay is $22.00/HR DOE. The shift is rotating every other month, with one month being M-F 5:00pm - 3:30am, then M-F 3:00pm -1:30am. Weekends are required as needed by business demands. This position requires critical thinking and working closely with production leaders and engineering to ensure that deadlines are met. Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.

Requirements

• 2 years of Leading experience leading a team in the manufacturing or production support process.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required. Must be able to speak, read, write, and communicate effectively in both languages.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate critical areas of pipe finishing, outlets/specials and loading.
• Coordinate and assure proper material deliveries.
• Ensure safety, quality, and production objectives are met by being a presence on the floor with practical relevant experience to reinforce best practices.
• Develop action plans in order to meet deadlines and responsibilities.
• Monitor personnel for adherence to company policies and productivity.
• Read blueprints and specifications and be technically proficient.
• Produce a quality product (including quality evaluations) that meets the customers’ expectations while ensuring that drawings and job specifications are followed.
• Perform requirements to satisfy company procedures including administrative requirements.
• Maintain order.
• Strive for zero defects and incidents.
• Evaluate personnel.
