About The Position

This opportunity is for an individual to apply their expertise in performance management, accountability agreements, funding allocation, and stakeholder engagement to support high-quality, equitable care for communities across Ontario's North Region. Reporting to the Director, Performance, Accountability and Funding Allocation, the Lead will serve as a key point of contact for assigned Health Service Providers (HSPs), supporting performance monitoring, accountability agreement administration, funding processes, risk identification, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role works collaboratively with HSPs, regional teams, and internal partners to advance system priorities, strengthen performance outcomes, and support practical, data-informed solutions. The scope of this role is regional in nature and will focus on the needs of Ontario Health’s North Region.

Requirements

• University degree, preferred in Business Administration, Health Administration, Finance, Accounting or equivalent work experience
• 5-7 years of experience within the healthcare community in Ontario in finance, decision support, analytics & reporting, project management or a similar role
• Advanced knowledge of analytical and interpretation skills that would support quality outcomes.
• Knowledge and experience of the Ontario healthcare system, accountability agreements and contract performance management and related issues
• Knowledge of performance management and evaluation techniques related to administrative and clinical performance
• Ability to translate health system questions into data analyses, and to clearly explain results and limitations of analyses.
• Ability to simplify complex information.
• Experience with system data and reporting.
• Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to influence others and facilitate meetings
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective, strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders (liaison role)
• Effective team player and strong ability to work in a team environment and independently
• Solid project management experience and skills including knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and templates (PMP certification is an asset)
• Administratively strong and able to converse well with HSPs and other regions as required
• Knowledge of applications and tools used in data management and statistical analysis
• Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication skills to work with HSPs, management team and liaise with colleagues
• Able to use a variety of software programs in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Project)
• Financial acumen
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to ensure accuracy, consistency and completeness across complex performance data, accountability agreements, funding information, reporting materials and stakeholder communications.
• All applicants must be a resident of Ontario to be considered for roles at Ontario Health.

Responsibilities

• Lead the performance management and monitoring of assigned Health Service Providers (HSPs), including accountability agreements, service performance, funding targets, key performance indicators, and related reporting requirements.
• Support the negotiation, development, and completion of Service Accountability Agreements (SAAs), including work-back schedules, supporting documentation, target setting, and follow-up with HSPs.
• Use health system data, performance measures, and funding information to identify risks, trends, service gaps, and opportunities for improvement across the region.
• Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations to the Director, Consultant, and internal partners on HSP performance, accountability requirements, funding allocation, risk management, and Ministry/Ontario Health priorities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with HSPs and internal teams to support proactive issue management, collaborative problem-solving, and alignment with regional and provincial priorities.
• Lead or contribute to performance improvement initiatives, audits, risk mitigation activities, integration work, and implementation of recommendations, including Auditor General-related follow-up where applicable.
• Develop and maintain tools, processes, communications, and reference materials that support consistent performance monitoring, escalation, reporting, and funding allocation practices.
• Participate in and contribute to regional, provincial, and cross-functional committees, planning groups, and working groups to share best practices, support innovation, and advance regional consistency.
• Support the development and implementation of regional performance and funding allocation frameworks, including processes to track indicators, monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes.
• Demonstrate expertise in priority health system issues, including performance measurement, health system data, accountability agreements, HSP funding, and quality improvement.
• Complete other related duties and ad hoc requests as assigned.
